British Columbia distributes 91 invitations during the most recent Tech Pilot draw

Canada is trying to combat the spread of the coronavirus by imposing temporary travel restrictions for the time being. However, the country is allowing exceptions so that immigrants can still find a place in the Canadian landscape. The provinces are still organizing draws in order to select new immigrants who will be able to make their way into the country once the pandemic is over.

British Columbia has issued 2,353 invitations so far this year for immigration candidates. The lucky candidates will be able to apply for a provincial nomination this year.

Details of the draw

The latest Tech Pilot draw saw the province distributing 91 invitations so that they can apply for provincial nominations. They can submit their applications if they want to take a shot. The draw was held on 21st April. It was organized under the Tech Pilot of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program. The immigration candidates who had job offers in the province’s technology sector are offered invitations that allow them to apply for a provincial nomination via weekly draws. The candidates who were selected in the most recent draw belonged to the subcategories of Skilled Worker and International Graduate. Both these subcategories are under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry B.C. streams.

The candidates who were invited had to have a minimum provincial score of 85. The PNP in British Columbia utilizes a points-based system known as the Skills Immigration Registration System. These points are responsible for deciding if a candidate can be invited to apply during an invitation round. This score is assigned based on numerous factors like level of education, provincial employment offers, and years of direct work experience.

The applicants who have got an invitation to apply will have a month to submit their complete application through the BC PNP Online registration system.
