Pause in Alberta Opportunity Stream Intake – Strategic Measures by AAIP
The AAIP introduced a novel immigration pathway on March 1, 2024, supporting Alberta’s tourism and hospitality sector in addressing labor shortages. This newly established immigration channel is known as the AAIP – Tourism and Hospitality Stream.
However, it’s important to note that the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has temporarily suspended intake for the Alberta Opportunity Stream until further notice. Applications submitted before the pause will continue to be processed while pending draft applications will not be accepted.
This temporary pause allows the program to manage its current inventory and allocate immigration nominations toward priority sectors, such as healthcare, technology, construction, agriculture, tourism, hospitality, and other high-demand industries.
In the future, the AAIP will employ tactics to control the number of applications received, aligning them with program priorities while ensuring satisfactory IRCC service standards across all streams. Updates regarding the resumption of application intake will be communicated through the program’s website.
As Alberta continues to navigate through its immigration initiatives, aspiring candidates are encouraged to stay informed through the Alberta PNP draws.
