Vibrant Canadian Culture

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program produced 170 new invitations, encouraging skilled people to apply for a provincial nomination in their quest for Canadian permanent residence. The Expression of Interest draw held on May 9th saw 15 invitations go to Manitoba immigration candidates who have a valid federal Express Entry profile. They should also have a job seeker validation code.

The Express Entry system is used to keep track and manage the pool of candidates who apply for immigration to Canada. The three main economic immigration categories of Canada are the:
● Federal Skilled Trades Class
● Canadian Experience Class
● Federal Skilled Worker Class

Once their nomination is approved, the candidates will be given an extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. However, there is no guarantee of approval. These additional points can improve their position, and their chances of receiving a federal Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada will improve. They will be able to participate in future Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) draws.

Most of the invitations were allotted to the Skilled Worker Manitoba Stream candidates. A total of 101 invitations were issued. The lowest-ranked candidate who was given the invitation under the stream scored 569 under Manitoba’s unique point grid. The rest of the invitations were allotted to candidates belonging to the Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Stream categories. The Skilled Workers Overseas candidate to receive the lowest rank held a score of 616.

The International Education Stream keeps an eye on international graduates of post-secondary institutions in Canada who satisfy the requirements of any of the three pathways. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) encourages graduates to participate in an information session before they sign up for an Expression of Interest (EOI).
