The Latest Race is to apply to Canada’s Parents and Grandparents Program
The Government of Canada just completed issuing invitations in an effort to set its Parents and Grandparents Program going. The invitations were sent to potential sponsors who will be able to apply to the Parents and Grandparents Program. The people who have been invited will be able to submit their completed application within a period of two months. They are running on a clock, and all the formalities need to be completed before 60 days.
Also known as the PGP, this program will allow eligible Canadian citizens and even permanent residents who are aged above 18 to act as the sponsor for their parents and grandparents who are aiming for Canadian permanent residence.
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have set themselves a target of 20,000 complete applications for the PGP programme in the year 2019. People who want to be considered for this invitation must first apply to the PGP. The interested individuals had to submit an Interest to Sponsor form at the time of the annual submission back in January.
The IRCC accepted 27,000 Interest to Sponsor forms in 2019. They used a first-in, first-served basis so that the process remains fair. This event was held during an intake that took place on January 28th. This programme intrigued so many people that the IRCC managed to reach its intake quota in less than 10 minutes.
The invitations were sent out following the same order which IRCC got the Interest to Sponsor forms. They conducted a thorough review afterwards to make sure that there was no mistake in eligibility and to eliminate any duplicates. The IRCC began to issue invitations on April 24 and ended the process on April 27.
If a candidate submitted the Interest to Sponsor form but did not receive an invitation, his or her submission and contact information will be preserved by the IRCC.
