Saskatchewan’s latest Expression of Interest draw issues 460 invitations

The Canadian immigration system is highly reliant on provincial draws that are held regularly. Recently, Saskatchewan organized an Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand draw that turned out to be highly successful. It was organized on 28th November and issued invitations to 460 skilled workers giving them the opportunity to apply for a provincial nomination so they can take a step forward in their path of gaining Canadian permanent residence.

The Express Entry sub-category under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is associated with the federal government’s Express Entry system. Canadian immigration utilizes Express Entry to find the perfect candidates who will be able to fit into Canadian society. It is in charge of managing the pool of candidates who can be classified under the primary economic-class immigration programs of Canada. The Express Entry system has a firm hold on the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Class.

The November 28 draw saw a total of 200 Express Entry candidates attending the draw. Express Entry candidates who manage to receive a provincial nomination from the province of Saskatchewan after submitting their application are awarded 600 points, which can be added to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This score gives them a higher chance of getting an invitation that would allow them to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Immigration candidates without an Express Entry profile will be able to apply under the Occupations In-Demand sub-category. 260 candidates from the Occupations In-Demand category were given the chance to apply for permanent residence. The Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories under SINP do not make it compulsory for candidates to have an existing job offer in Saskatchewan.

However, they must have a year of work experience in any suitably skilled occupation.
