Saskatchewan Organizes New PNP to Issue 250 Invitations

Canada has set high immigration targets for 2021 so as to make up for the immigration losses suffered last year. The Canadian provinces have been hosting regular draws to invite skilled candidates who will be able to boost the economy. In the last few months, the province of Saskatchewan has distributed an average of more than 250 invitations every fortnight.

Details of the new draw

On June 15, Saskatchewan organized a draw to issue 255 invitations to skilled workers. The draw specifically targeted candidates belonging to the Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry categories. The chosen candidates also had work experience in any of the 55 listed professions. Saskatchewan wants to give provincial nominations to candidates who can fill the labor deficiencies in the market.

The candidates who meet the eligibility requirements of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) were issued invitations. They will now have the chance to secure a provincial nomination via the International Skilled Worker category. 152 of the invited candidates will be eligible via the Occupations In-Demand sub-category, while 103 of them could fulfill the eligibility requirements of SINP’s Express Entry subcategory.

The candidates were required to have a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 82 in order to receive invitations. They also had to provide their Educational Credential Assessments so as to prove that their foreign education met the same standards as its Canadian counterpart. It was also compulsory for them to have professional experience in one of the 55 in-demand professions.
