A business bureau operating out of Prince Edward Island recently came forward with an information kit that could help the province attract francophone immigrant entrepreneurs and skilled workers who would be able to make significant contributions to the labor industry.
The francophone economic development group based in Prince Edward Island (PEI) has created a series of information booklets that aim to attract more French-speaking immigrants.

The RDÉE or the Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité has carefully compiled these eight booklets that contain relevant and pertinent information regarding the province’ economic and francophone situation. The primary booklet has been titled as ‘Opportunity Awaits:

Attracting Francophone immigrants to Prince Edward Island,’ and it speaks about the necessity of increased francophone immigration to the province. Not only could this boost the economy, but it would also strengthen the cultural identity of Prince Edward Island. At the moment, the province is undergoing problems related to the aging population. According to the booklet, promoting francophone immigration could solve this problem once and for all.

The booklet states that there are many important industries in the province that require bilingual (French and English speakers) workers. Moreover, new entrepreneurs are now rising in the market, and the combination could do wonders for the province. The most important industries in the province are:
  • Health care and social assistance
  • Public administration
  • Agriculture, forestry, fishing
  • Retail trade
  • Manufacturing

The immigrants who establish their lives in Prince Edward Island would have the advantage of high life quality. During the last few years, PEI has been unable to entice many French-speaking immigrants which is one of the reasons why 2020 needs to see a turnaround. The other seven booklets compile demographic information along with economic data about the different regions of the province.
