An Overview of PEI’s Labor and Express Entry Stream
With the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), individuals have the opportunity to immigrate to Canada’s picturesque province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) through the Labor and Express Entry streams.
The Labour stream is intended for people who have a genuine work offer from a PEI firm. By attracting qualified employees with the required training and experience in in-demand professions, this stream seeks to satisfy the province’s labor market demands. On the other hand, the federal Express Entry system is in line with the Express Entry stream. Candidates can indicate their interest in coming to PEI through the indicated Entry system if they meet the qualifications for one of the three federal economic immigration programs (Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program). In addition to these criteria, you also need to have the intention to settle and enough money to live in the province.
The PEI PNP has a number of streams, including Express Entry, Labor Impact, Business Impact, and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. Candidates for PEI nomination through Express Entry must submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) to the PEI PNP. Similar to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for Express Entry, EOI profiles are given a grade based on a PEI points grid system. Through monthly lotteries, high-ranking prospects are encouraged to apply.
The PEI PNP thereafter chooses qualified applicants from the Express Entry pool who have expressed an interest in relocating to PEI. Successful applicants who are nominated by the PEI PNP under the Labour or Express Entry streams may next apply to the Canadian federal government for permanent residency.
