Ontario produces new invitations with the help of the Express Entry-aligned French-Speaking Skilled

The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream does not need a job offer in Ontario in order to apply for citizenship. They are also not required to have a minimum CRS score, which makes the process considerably simpler for them.

Recently, Ontario began to issue new invitations in order to encourage more people to apply. These invitations can be used to apply for a provincial nomination which will then lead to the candidates gaining Canadian permanent residence if they are chosen. The invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates who have the required French-speaking abilities. The draw was held on 22nd May.

The draw saw the issuance of 360 invitations through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). They were targeted at the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, which is among the three Ontario immigration pathways that are aligned with the federal Express Entry system.

Canada largely depends on the Express Entry system to get access to skilled foreign labor. It is responsible for the management of the pool of candidates classified under the Federal Skilled Trades Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class, and the Canadian Experience Class. With the aid of the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, the OINP has the ability to search the Express Entry pool when they are looking for Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Class candidates who are fluent in both French and English. If they meet the language proficiency requirements along with the other selection criteria, they are considered eligible for the invitations.

Express Entry candidates who have managed to earn a provincial nomination also get an extra 600 points added to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score which helps them score a guaranteed invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residence programmed, operated by the Government of Canada.
