Ontario has opened applications for its Regional Immigration Pilot
Canadian provinces are always welcoming towards skilled immigrants who will be able to meet the demands of the province’s labor market. Prospective Ontario immigrants will now be able to avail of a new pathway if they are looking to attain permanent residence.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has now opened its application process for a new program called the Regional Immigration Pilot. Candidates who want to be eligible for this pilot must fulfill the requirements of any of the OINP Employer Job Offer streams available under the program.
The objective of this immigration pilot program is to invite foreign talent to the province of Ontario and enrich its communities. If you are someone who is interested in the pilot, you will be able to submit your application now.
Details of the pilot and requirements:
It is mandatory for candidates to secure full-time, permanent job offers from employers belonging to any of the following three Ontario communities:
- Quinte West/Belleville
The two-year pilot is going to have 150 nominations assigned for applicants who want to be a part of these communities. Moreover, OINP has adopted new marketing and outreach techniques that will increase awareness among local employers and offer business service support. They have also decided to partner with stakeholders in order to make the best of the local entrepreneur stream business succession.
While applicants do require a job offer in Ontario if they want to be eligible for a stream in this category, they do not have to be physically present in the country.
The ultimate goal of the new pilot is to establish connections between highly skilled immigrants and jobs in smaller Ontario communities. The locations were chosen specifically based on factors such as their existing labor challenges and their capacity of helping newcomers get settled.
