Newfoundland and Labrador PNP Draw

Newfoundland and Labrador held its third immigration draw of 2025 on May 29, issuing a total of 405 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under two key programs: the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). This draw highlights the province’s ongoing efforts to address critical labour shortages and support long-term population growth.

Out of the total invitations, 351 were issued through the NLPNP, while 54 invitations went to candidates under the AIP. The draw focused on individuals with full-time employment offers in high-demand occupations, especially those already living in the province or ready to work in rural and remote communities.

Priority on In-Demand Occupations and Local Hiring

The Newfoundland and Labrador PNP draw on May 29 prioritised candidates with active job offers in sectors facing labour gaps. This includes roles in health care, technology, and skilled trades. The province continues to strengthen its economy by offering permanent residency pathways to skilled foreign workers and international graduates.

Candidates who were already residing in the province on valid work permits had a clear advantage in this round. Employers in Newfoundland and Labrador—especially in less urban areas—also benefited by being able to retain talent critical to local economic needs.

New EOI System Adds Transparency and Efficiency

As of February 19, 2025, the province introduced a new Enhanced Expression of Interest (EOI) system through the Immigration Accelerator platform. This system is now required for all candidates applying under NLPNP or AIP.

Key features of the system include:

  • Mandatory EOI submissions for all candidates.
  • Invite codes are required for those applying from outside Canada, issued by provincial employers.
  • Candidates inside Canada with a valid temporary status do not need invitation codes.
  • EOIs remain valid for 12 months.
  • Selected applicants have 60 days to submit full applications.
  • Receiving an ITA does not guarantee nomination—all eligibility criteria must still be met.

Newfoundland and Labrador PNP Continues to Open Doors

The latest draw under the Newfoundland and Labrador PNP reinforces the province’s proactive immigration strategy. By focusing on regional hiring, job-ready immigrants, and a more transparent selection process, Newfoundland and Labrador is making it easier for skilled workers to build a permanent life in the province.

For newcomers looking to settle in Canada, this province offers not just opportunity, but a real chance to thrive in a supportive and fast-growing community. Subscribe to Canada Immigration News for staying ahead with the latest PNP draws.
