Manitoba Issues Record Breaking Number of Invitations in New Draw
Canada has been inviting larger batches of candidates recently in order to make up for the immigration losses suffered last year. The provinces have also been participating in the country’s effort to boost immigration.
Manitoba recently hosted a huge draw and issued a total of 1,017 invitations among Express Entry candidates who can now submit their applications for a provincial nomination. Manitoba has been efficient when it comes to organizing regular draws, as proven by the fact that the province has already issued 4,722 invitations so far this year.
Details of the draw
The latest draw took place on June 28, and Manitoba made quite the statement by inviting 1,017 skilled candidates from the Express Entry pool. They will have the chance to apply for a provincial nomination, and the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) will evaluate them after that. Only those candidates were invited who already had a valid Express Entry ID as well as a job seeker validation code.
All the invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were issued via the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. For candidates to get an invitation, they had to have existing profiles in the Expression of Interest (EOI) system of Manitoba and also meet the minimum EOI score requirement of 565. Manitoba usually determines this score based on their EOI scoring matrix.
Candidates who actually manage to secure the provincial nomination will be at an advantage as compared to other candidates. This is because they will receive an extra 600 CRS points and be more likely to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the next federal Express Entry draw.
