Manitoba Hosts New PNP Immigration Draw
The Canadian provinces are trying to invite more skilled workers this year who will be able to contribute to the recovery of the post-pandemic economy.
On February 12, 2021, Manitoba held a new Provincial Nominee Program or PNP draw. It was the third draw to be organized by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program or MPNP. A total of 296 immigration candidates received invitations.
If you are interested in the Provincial Nominee Program of Manitoba, you must submit your Expression of Interest with the MPNP after which you will be ranked out of 1000 points on the basis of certain human capital factors.
Details of the draw
The February 12 draw targeted international graduates and skilled workers through the Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Workers in Manitoba, and International Education Stream streams. While the first two streams cater to the labor needs of the provincial market, the last one is meant for international graduates. Candidates should have a specific Expression of Interest (EOI) in order to receive Letters of Advice to Apply under each stream.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates received 240 LAAs and their score requirement was 514. On the other hand, 23 LAAs went to candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas stream and their score cut-off requirement was 676. The candidates in the International Education Stream did not have to fulfill any particular EOI score requirement and they received 33 LAAs in total.
Express Entry candidates received 20 LAAs altogether. Applicants who are successful in securing a provincial nomination will have an extra 600 points added to their score. This will boost their chances of becoming a permanent resident in Manitoba.
