Get to Know More about the Federal Skilled Workers Program

Canada welcomes 400,000 immigrants every year through various programs under the Express Entry route, and the Federal Skilled Workers Program pathway is among them. More than half of the candidates immigrated through the FSWP route before the pandemic, so applying for FSWP can be an excellent opportunity for you.

Immigrating to Canada through Federal Skilled Workers Program is easy once you have passed the eligibility criteria. Here are the basic requirements to be eligible:

Eligibility Criteria for FSWP

  • Complete an English/French language test set by the IRCC.
  • Have a minimum of one year full-time or equivalent part-time experience under the occupational jobs as per National Occupational Classification skill level 0, A, or B.
  • You should have an Educational Credential Assessment.

Based on all the above criteria, you will be given points out of 100, and if you score more than 67, you will be able to move to the next step of the process.

Register your profile on IRCC’s website under the Express Entry Category. You will be given a Comprehensive Ranking System score based on the eligibility mentioned above requirements. It will largely depend on your age, work experience, language skills, and whether or not any of the provinces nominated you.

Every two weeks, IRCC sends invitations to candidates with the highest CRS score, so if you get an invite, you will be able to apply for permanent residence. You can apply once you get an ITA, and if your application is approved, you will be able to move to Canada with ease.
