How Does the BC PNP Work?
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is a system used by the Canadian province of British Columbia to nominate candidates who have the training and expertise required to make a positive impact on the province’s economy. There are two skill-based immigration streams available for nomination through the BC PNP. The qualifying requirements for the particular Skills Immigration stream that the applicant is applying under must first be satisfied.
The Provincial Nominee Program allows candidates who have been nominated by the BC PNP to apply to the federal government for permanent residence in Canada. If an applicant uses Express Entry, the BC PNP nomination increases their Comprehensive Ranking method (CRS) score by 600 points, significantly increasing their chances of being asked to submit a permanent residence application.
