British Columbia Issued 216 Invitations In Recent PNP Draw
British Columbia has been on a roll when it comes to issuing invitations and inviting skilled workers who will be able to help in restoring the provincial economy.
Provincial Nominee Programs or PNPs are very advantageous because they allow the provinces to choose the most skilled candidates from the Express Entry pool based on the existing labor gaps in the market.
Details of the draw
The latest PNP draw to be held by British Columbia was on February 2. The categories targeted by the province were Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC or EEBC. The Entrepreneur Stream invited 8 people. A total of 208 candidates received invitations during the draw. Now they will be able to submit an application for a provincial nomination.
If the invited candidates can get nominated by the province successfully, they will have a higher chance of getting an ITA in the next Express Entry draw. British Columbia decided to exclude certain sales and services professions because of the pandemic.
The Skills Immigration category included candidates from three subcategories. The cut-off score for Skilled Worker candidates and the International Graduate candidates was 98. People belonging to the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled sub-category required 79 to be eligible for an invitation.
The Express Entry British Columbia assigned different cut-off scores for its subcategories as well. Candidates belonging to the Skilled Worker stream needed to get 104 points to be eligible for an invitation. On the other hand, International Graduate candidates required 100 points.
British Columbia has already 740 invitations in 2021. All the applicants are judged on the basis of factors like work experience and language proficiency.
