Alberta Hosts New PNP Draw To Invite Express Entry Candidates
The Canadian province of Alberta has finally published the details of the draw held on February 16. The selected Express Entry candidates now have a higher chance of becoming permanent residents in Alberta.
All the invited candidates who received invitations during the draw had existing profiles in the Express Entry system which made them eligible for the Provincial Nominee Program or PNP of Alberta. Express Entry happens to be the application manager for the three Canadian Federal High Skilled immigration streams.
Details of the draw
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program or AINP issued 159 invitations among Express Entry candidates who can now apply for the provincial Express Entry system. The required Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS score was 352. The selected candidates have an advantage since they have higher scores than other candidates in the Express Entry pool.
Should you apply?
The Alberta Express Entry system is ideal for people who already have strong connections to the province. Candidates who work in occupations that will support the diversification measures and economic development of the province can also receive nominations. Their work experience should be in an eligible profession. The AINP offers a lot of professions that they will not consider.
Due to the travel restrictions imposed because of the pandemic, Alberta is only confirming candidates who are living and working in the province at the moment. Once traveling becomes easier across international borders, it will resume the normal process.
It is yet to be seen how many provincial nominations Alberta can allocate this year.
