With more and more hurdles coming in the way of the immigrants applying of Canadian Residency, this year’s decisions by the government have surprisingly been in their favor.

According to the federal structure, candidates who have a high score in their CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System, are generally more likely to get an invitation for permanent residency in Canada. The two categories differentiating the immigrant candidates are Express Entry candidates and Occupations In-demand candidates.

To speed up their process of obtaining permanent residency, candidates from the province of Saskatchewan can apply for a provincial nomination. If they are successful, then they receive an award of extra 600 CRS points. An increase in the number of points means increased chances of invitation. It takes them one step further in getting an assured residency invitation.

This year already 576 invitations,301 invitations for the Express Entry Candidates and 275 for the occupations in demand candidates have been sent out by the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program.

To qualify for this stage, an Express Entry candidate will require to submit his Expression of Interest Profile along with the SINP. The profile involves questions about the candidate’s work experience, communication abilities, age, educational qualification and the reason behind him wanting to settle in the province. They need to have at least one year of job experience or be a part of a study program in this province.

Immigration candidates who do not have a federal Express Entry Profile will have to opt for the Occupation in Demand Category.

The SINP is responsible for giving candidates scores assessing their profiles. The ratings are a possible 100. Generally, five factors of the assessment grid are taken care of while marking. The candidates scoring highest get issued invitations. For both the categories, the minimum score for this year was 69.
