According to the update, the AAIP inventory stands at impressive numbers across its key streams:

These figures underscore Alberta’s appeal as a destination for skilled workers and its strategic approach to addressing labor shortages across various sectors and regions.

In a noteworthy development, the AAIP has shown a particular focus on bolstering its healthcare workforce. The program conducted two recent draws under its Dedicated Healthcare Pathway, inviting a total of 172 candidates. On May 28, 2024, 99 healthcare professionals received invitations, followed by another 73 on June 18, 2024.

“Our healthcare system is the backbone of our communities,” stated Alberta’s Minister of Immigration. “By prioritizing healthcare professionals through our immigration program, we’re ensuring Albertans have access to the quality care they deserve.”

The emphasis on healthcare professionals aligns with Alberta’s commitment to strengthening its healthcare system, particularly in rural and underserved areas. This targeted approach not only addresses immediate staffing needs but also contributes to the long-term sustainability of healthcare services across the province.
