162 French Speakers Receive Invitations in New Ontario PNP Draw

Being fluent in French can prove to be quite advantageous if you are trying to become a permanent resident in Canada. Ontario’s French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) stream under the Express Entry system caters to French-speaking candidates who would like to secure provincial nominations from the province. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) stream was introduced by Canada to make it easier for provinces and territories to invite skilled candidates who can fill labor gaps and the FSSW operates as an enhanced PNP.

Details of the draw

The most recent draw for French-speaking candidates was held by Ontario on October 7, and a total of 162 candidates received invitations to apply for provincial nomination. It was the fourth FSSW draw of 2021. Ontario has now issued 651 invitations via the stream this year.

The selected candidates will now have the opportunity to immigrate to Canada via the French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for candidates to get invited in this draw ranged between 461 and 467. They also had to be registered in the Express Entry pool with a complete profile.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) will get in touch with the invited candidates, and they will be able to submit their applications online within 45 days. Express Entry candidates who get provincial nominated by a province are almost guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada in a later draw. This is because provincial nominees are automatically awarded an extra 600 CRS points.
