Saskatchewan invites 150 candidates in the Latest Draw

Saskatchewan in its latest immigration draw issued Invitation to Apply (ITA) to 150 candidates under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The draw held on 15th August which saw a split between the province’s Occupations In-demand and Express Entry categories. 45 candidates were invited under the Saskatchewan Express Entry stream while 105 candidates were invited under the Occupation In-Demand category.

SINP has released a total of 1315 invitations to Express Entry stream applicants and 1789 invitations to Occupations In-Demand candidates so far this year. However, the recent draw saw a decrease in the number of invitations issued from 381 to 150 as compared to the SINP draw held on July 24, 2019.

Eligibility Criteria

As per the latest draw, an applicant is required to have a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 78 points.
Applicants are awarded points out of 100 based on the following factors:

• Education qualification
• Connection to Saskatchewan
• Skilled work experience
• Language proficiency (English/French)

After evaluating the candidate based on the above-mentioned factors, the ones with the highest scores in both sub-categories are then given invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence. To be eligible for a provincial nomination, the applicant must have work experience in one of the 19 occupations included in the Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupations List.

The Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan get an advantage because they can add 600 addition points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. As a result, they have relatively higher chances of getting an invitation, which will allow them to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
