New Express Entry draw produces 3,600 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence

The Government of Canada has issued and distributed 3,600 invitations in order to allow Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence. This draw was held on 27th November and saw the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score to be 471. This means that candidates with a CRS score below 471 were not considered for the invitation. The score shows a reduction of one point as compared to the previous Express Entry draw that was organized on 13th November and recorded a cut-off score of 472.

Since the Express Entry system is one of the main sources of skilled foreign labor for the country, the draw was significant. The Express Entry covers the pool of candidates who are under the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Canadian Experience Class, or the Federal Skilled Trades Class. These categories serve as the country’s most important Economic Class immigration programs.

All eligible candidates are assigned a score based on the Express Entry CRS system. Factors like education, skilled work experience, age, and proficiency in English, French, or both, are taken into consideration when determining the CRS score for each candidate. It is not mandatory for the candidates to produce a job offer to qualify for an Express Entry invitation to apply.

The Government of Canada organizes draws regularly for a fixed number of Express Entry candidates who have the highest ranks. The minimum CRS score is decided on the basis of the size of the draw. The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) used a tie-break date and time of 6:29:10 UTC on 11th November 2019 for this draw. All candidates with a score of or above 471 who were able to submit their profile prior to this date and time were eligible to receive an ITA.
