Express Entry Draw invitations for permanent residence

The Canadian Government has issued 3,600 invitations to Express Entry candidates allowing them to apply for permanent residence via which they will be able to settle in Canada as a citizen. The last draw was held on 13th November, and it brought the total number of invitations to apply (ITAs) issued through the Canadian Express Entry system this year to 75,300.

The analysis shows that the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for today’s draw stood at 472. This marked a decrease of three points as compared to the previous draw that was held 30th October and recorded a cut-off score of 475. The Express Entry system is responsible for handling the pool of candidates who can be classified into the three Federal High Skilled economic immigration categories. These categories are the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Class.

Eligible candidates are awarded ranks in the Express Entry pool on the basis of their CRS score. It is calculated by taking factors like age, skilled work experience, education, and language proficiency into consideration. Usually, it is not mandatory for applicants to have a job offer to qualify for the Express Entry ITA, but additional points are given if they are able to produce one. The 3,600 ITAs distributed during the draw has propelled Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on their journey to tie with the invitation record of 89,800 in 2018. They just need more than 14,500 ITAs with a few weeks to go.

Everyone expected the IIRCC to surpass the 2018 ITA record because of the higher admissions rate for the economic immigration categories that are managed through Express Entry. The Provincial Nominee Program has also boosted the number of successful applicants.
