Manitoba Issues Over 600 Invitations in New PNP Draw

Canadian provinces have been organizing larger draws in 2021 to invite more skilled workers than usual. The pandemic hurt the economy, and the country is trying to restore normalcy.

Manitoba recently held a huge Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw to invite more than 600 eligible candidates. They will apply for a provincial nomination in the hope of securing it. Provincial nominees are awarded 600 extra CRS points, which gives them an advantage over other candidates. 

Manitoba organized the PNP draw on September 2 and issued 602 invitations to eligible immigration candidates. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) awards nominations to candidates allowing them to improve their final application for permanent residence in Canada.

Details of the draw

A total of 463 invitations were issued to Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates, and their EOI score requirement was 445. Candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas program received 84 invitations, and their minimum EOI score cutoff was 698. There was no EOI specification for the International Education Stream candidates who received 55 invitations amongst themselves. Express Entry candidates got 101 invitations or Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs).

Participating in the PNP is not mandatory, but it improves your chances of being invited to apply for permanent residence significantly. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada tends to reward the 600-point advantage with an invitation in the next federal Express Entry draw. All candidates are usually ranked on the basis of human capital factors such as age, educational qualifications, language abilities and professional experience.
