Manitoba Issues 766 Invitations

Manitoba continues to use its Provincial Nominee Program to address workforce shortages by targeting candidates with skills that match the province’s economic priorities. On July 30, 2026, Manitoba held Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #276, issuing 766 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration pathways.

Unlike the province’s previous record-setting draw, this invitation round was more targeted. Manitoba focused heavily on manufacturing occupations, Francophone candidates, and skilled workers invited through strategic recruitment initiatives. The latest draw also included 94 Express Entry candidates, further strengthening the connection between Manitoba’s provincial immigration program and the federal immigration system.

With this latest round, Manitoba has now invited 4,822 candidates through the MPNP in 2026, including 1,471 candidates linked to Express Entry

Manitoba MPNP Draw #276 Results

The July 30 invitation round included three major categories:

Stream Invitations
Occupation-Specific Selection 679
Francophone Selection 17
Skilled Worker Stream (Strategic Recruitment) 70
Total Invitations 766

Among all invitations issued, 94 candidates had valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes.

Manufacturing Workers Receive the Largest Share of Invitations

The most notable feature of Draw #276 was Manitoba’s strong emphasis on manufacturing occupations.

Out of the 679 occupation-specific invitations:

  • 605 invitations went to candidates employed in Broad Occupational Category 9 – Manufacturing and Utilities.
  • The lowest-ranked invited candidate recorded a score of 632.

This large allocation highlights Manitoba’s ongoing efforts to strengthen industries that support production, transportation, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing.

The province continues to experience demand for workers capable of supporting expanding manufacturing operations and infrastructure projects.

Specialized Occupations Also Targeted

Besides manufacturing, Manitoba invited 74 candidates working in several highly specialized occupations.

Priority occupations included:

  • Aerospace Engineers
  • Aircraft Mechanics
  • Aircraft Avionics Technicians
  • Air Pilots
  • Aircraft Assembly Inspectors
  • Facility Operation and Maintenance Managers
  • General Practitioners and Family Physicians

These targeted occupations demonstrate Manitoba’s strategy of addressing critical shortages in aviation, engineering, healthcare, and industrial maintenance.

Rather than conducting a broad invitation round, the province selected candidates whose occupations closely matched employer demand.

Manitoba Continues Supporting French-Speaking Immigration

The province also invited 17 Francophone candidates who had declared French as their primary language of communication with the MPNP and submitted valid French language test results.

Although relatively small, regular Francophone selections continue to support Manitoba’s goal of increasing French-speaking immigration while strengthening bilingual communities across the province.

French-speaking applicants remain an important part of Manitoba’s long-term immigration strategy.

Strategic Recruitment Remains an Important Pathway

Another 70 invitations were issued under Manitoba’s Skilled Worker Stream through Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

The invitations were distributed across several recruitment programs:

  • Employer Services – 20
  • Francophone Community – 25
  • Ethnocultural Communities – 12
  • Regional Communities – 6
  • Temporary Public Policy (TPP) – 7

These initiatives allow Manitoba employers and community organizations to directly support skilled workers whose experience aligns with regional labour shortages.

This approach provides employers with greater flexibility while helping newcomers establish themselves more quickly in Manitoba communities.

Express Entry Continues to Play a Supporting Role

Of the 766 invitations, 94 candidates had active Express Entry profiles.

Receiving a provincial nomination through Manitoba can significantly improve a candidate’s chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence through the federal Express Entry system.

The province has now issued 1,471 Express Entry-linked invitations during 2026, reinforcing Manitoba’s continued use of both provincial and federal immigration pathways.

Why This Draw Matters

Unlike previous Manitoba draws that emphasized international graduates or completed education pathways, Draw #276 concentrated on current labour market shortages.

Several trends stand out:

  • Manufacturing remains one of Manitoba’s highest recruitment priorities.
  • Healthcare occupations continue receiving targeted invitations.
  • Aviation and engineering professionals remain in demand.
  • Francophone immigration continues through dedicated selections.
  • Employer-driven recruitment remains central to Manitoba’s immigration strategy.

These targeted selections help Manitoba address immediate workforce needs while supporting long-term economic growth.

What Candidates Should Do Next

Candidates who received a Letter of Advice to Apply should begin preparing their complete MPNP application as early as possible.

Applicants should ensure they have documentation supporting:

  • Employment history,
  • Education,
  • Language test results,
  • Settlement plans,
  • and any occupation-specific licensing requirements.

Candidates who were not invited should keep their Expression of Interest profile updated.

Improving language scores, gaining additional work experience, or obtaining employment in Manitoba may strengthen future selection opportunities.

Because Manitoba conducts regular invitation rounds, updated profiles remain eligible for future draws based on changing labour market priorities.

Manitoba’s latest MPNP draw demonstrates that the province continues to prioritize targeted immigration over broad-based selections. By issuing 766 invitations, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, and Francophone candidates, Manitoba is addressing sectors experiencing genuine labour shortages.

As the province approaches 5,000 invitations issued in 2026, skilled workers whose occupations align with Manitoba’s evolving workforce needs may continue to benefit from upcoming invitation rounds.
