Immigration Announcement
Canada Opens Registration for the 2026 Destination Canada Forum Targeting Francophone Talent
Canada has officially opened registration for the 2026 Destination Canada Mobility Forum, a flagship recruitment initiative designed to connect French-speaking and bilingual professionals with employers and immigration pathways outside Quebec. The forum continues to play a central role in strengthening Francophone communities across the country while addressing persistent labour shortages.
Organized by the Government of Canada, the forum offers skilled workers a direct channel to Canadian employers, provincial representatives, and immigration officials. Participation is free, but attendance is by invitation only and subject to capacity limits.
When and Where the Forum Will Take Place
The 2026 edition of the Destination Canada Mobility Forum will be held in multiple formats to reach candidates across regions:
- Online sessions on February 2, 3, and 4, 2026
- In-person events in Tunis from February 9 to 11, 2026
- An in-person event in Paris on February 14, 2026
Registration is open until January 11, 2026. Invitations will be issued based on candidate profiles and event capacity.
Who the Forum is Designed For?
The forum targets French-speaking and bilingual professionals interested in living and working outside Quebec. Candidates typically come from sectors facing labour shortages, including health care, skilled trades, education, technology, and public services.
Participants gain access to:
- Information on federal and provincial immigration programs
- Networking opportunities with employers actively hiring
- Guidance from provinces and territories seeking Francophone newcomers
- Support from Francophone organizations focused on community integration
Why Destination Canada Matters for Immigration Strategy
Canada has long prioritized the growth of Francophone minority communities outside Quebec. Recruitment initiatives like Destination Canada help support this goal by attracting talent that can strengthen local economies while preserving linguistic diversity.
For employers, the forum offers a rare opportunity to meet pre-screened international candidates who already meet language expectations and are motivated to settle long-term. For candidates, it provides clarity on immigration options that can otherwise feel complex when navigating from abroad.
From Recruitment to Permanent Residence
Many candidates who attend Destination Canada go on to apply through pathways such as Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, and employer-supported work permits. Direct interaction with immigration representatives allows participants to align their profiles with realistic pathways before applying.
This early alignment reduces uncertainty and helps candidates make informed decisions about relocation, employment, and settlement.
Limited Spaces and Competitive Selection
Because participation is invitation-only, candidates are encouraged to submit complete and accurate profiles during registration. Selection depends on professional background, language ability, and alignment with current labour needs.
As demand for Francophone talent remains strong, competition for invitations is expected to be high. The opening of registration for the 2026 Destination Canada Mobility Forum reinforces Canada’s focus on attracting French-speaking professionals beyond Quebec. By linking skilled talent directly with employers and immigration pathways, the forum continues to serve as a strategic gateway for candidates seeking long-term opportunities across Canada.
