Canada issues 3,600 invitations to apply under the new Express Entry draw

Canada Immigration authorities conducted a new Express Entry draw, which saw Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada getting back to its regular Wednesday slot after the previous draws took place on a Monday and a Tuesday.

A new invitation round through Canada’s Express Entry draw system issued 3,600 invitations to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence. This was the fifth consecutive draw where 3,600 ITAs have been issued. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score in September 4 invitation round was set at 463, which is an increase of six points over the previous Express Entry draw that was held on August 20.

The Express Entry System (EE) is one of the most popular choices of potential immigrants to get a shot at Canadian permanent citizenship. The EE system is Canada’s principal source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class.

To be considered for an Invitation To Apply (ITA) the eligible candidates are required to enter into the Express Entry pool and are ranked based on a CRS score that considers parameters like age, skilled work experience, education qualification, and language skills.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) implemented a tie-breaking rule for the September 4 draw. This means all the candidates who had a CRS score of 463 or more and who had submitted their profile in the Express Entry pool before August 23, 2019, at 13:33:34 UTC received an ITA.

Today’s draw was the 17th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2019 and with this draw, the number of ITAs issued this year reaches 59,800.
