British Columbia Invites 410 Candidates in Latest BCPNP Skills Immigration Draw
On December 10, 2025, British Columbia conducted its third Skills Immigration invitation round of the year, issuing 410 invitations to apply (ITAs) through the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). This draw emphasizes the province’s renewed focus on attracting high-impact workers who can fill essential labour shortages and contribute to long-term regional growth.
A total of 96 candidates were invited under the high-wage category, requiring a minimum hourly wage of $87 and an annual salary of at least $170,000. These candidates also needed a qualifying job offer in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupations. The remaining 314 invitations were issued to candidates who achieved a minimum score of 138 points based on the province’s selection grid.
This brings British Columbia’s total invitations in 2025 to 1,088 candidates, marking an active year for employer-aligned immigration pathways.
British Columbia New High-Economic-Impact Model
The BCPNP Skills Immigration Draw continues to evolve as the province shifts toward a streamlined, employer-driven selection model. The high-wage category, introduced earlier this year, aims to attract workers with strong earning potential in industries such as technology, engineering, financial services, biotechnology, and digital media.
Candidates in TEER 0-3 occupations often work in leadership roles, advanced technical professions, and high-skill fields. The focus on earnings aligns British Columbia’s immigration selection with long-term provincial productivity, economic competitiveness, and retention outcomes.
Minimum 138-Point Score Category: Broader Labour Market Needs
The second part of the draw invited 314 candidates based on the Skills Immigration scoring system, which rewards factors such as wage, education, Canadian work experience, job offer location, and language proficiency.
This group reflects broader provincial labour needs, including roles in healthcare, construction, childcare, hospitality, and service sectors. British Columbia’s expanding economy continues to rely on skilled newcomers to support population growth, regional development, and workforce sustainability.
How Candidates Are Selected
The BCPNP regularly assesses registrations in its online system and issues invitations to the candidates who are most likely to positively impact the provincial labour market. Selection factors include:
- Wage level
- TEER category and occupation demand
- Regional employer needs
- Candidate skills and work experience
- Economic priorities identified in the BC Labour Market Outlook
Applicants who receive an ITA have 30 calendar days to submit a complete application through the BCPNP online portal.
What This Means for 2026 Applicants
With the continued rise of high-growth sectors, foreign workers in technology, engineering, and high-wage occupations are likely to see consistent opportunities in upcoming draws. Meanwhile, candidates in healthcare, childcare, trades, and essential service occupations remain vital to provincial workforce strategies.
British Columbia is expected to maintain its focus on high-impact applicants as it aligns with federal immigration objectives and economic resilience priorities. Start your BC PNP assessment and prepare for the next Skills Immigration draw.
