British Columbia Invites 357 New PNP Candidates

The province of British Columbia has invited 357 new candidates through the Provincial Nominee Program draws held on November 23. Two draws were held through the British Columbia PNP, and candidates from the Skilled Entry and Express Entry BC streams have been invited.

Depending on the program for which they are eligible, candidates scoring between 75 and 91 were sent invitations. A total of 258 invitations were sent through the general draw.

Separate draws for NOC 0621 (retail and wholesale trade managers) or NOC 0631 (restaurant and food service managers) were held. In total, 99 invitations were sent with a minimum score of 103. The provincial government has issued around 11,000 invitations in 2021 through the various PNPs.

What is the British Columbia PNP?

The objective of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program is to invite foreign workers in high demand to the country. These workers are also in contention for being permanent residents of Canada as a result.

British Columbia PNP has two main streams for application, namely, Express Entry and Skills Immigration. These streams are managed by the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and have a number of subcategories.

Candidates that wish to apply for the PNP through SIRS need to create a profile. Once you provide your details, your profile will be evaluated based on a number of factors. Some of them include age, work experience, English or French proficiency among others.

British Columbia regularly conducts draws, and the highest-scoring candidates are sent an invitation to apply for provincial nomination. This, in turn, will lead to permanent residency.

Once a candidate receives an invitation to apply for the provincial nomination, they will have 30 days to register through the BC PNP online system. The final decision will be announced two to three months after the application is submitted online.
