Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Issues 81 Invitations

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has recently updated its immigration intake system to make it more user-friendly. It was the first Employer Job Offer round that the province held two weeks after introducing the new system.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) hosted its most recent draw on May 11. The province issued a total of 81 invitations to candidates who could fulfill the eligibility requirements for the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream. The selected candidates also had existing profiles under the Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

In order to be invited, the candidates were required to have a minimum Expression of Interest score of 31. Foreign nationals with an eligible job offer in Ontario are eligible to apply for the Ontario Foreign Worker stream listed under the Employer Job Offer category.

Professions invited by the draw

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program focused on inviting candidates who had professional experience in any of the 23 listed occupations. The province included 8 skilled trades professions and 15 healthcare professions.

Ontario targeted the following skilled trades professions:

• Contractors and supervisors, heavy equipment operator crews
• Machine fitters
• Carpenters
• Roofers and shinglers
• Elevator constructors and mechanics
• Electricians (apart from industrial and power system)
• Heavy-duty equipment mechanics
• Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics

The province gave preference to the following healthcare professions:

• Registered psychiatric nurses and registered nurses
• Dietitians and nutritionists
• Family physicians and general practitioners
• Optometrists
• Massage therapists
• Chiropractors
• Allied primary health practitioners
• Practitioners of natural healing
• Speech-language pathologists and audiologists
• Veterinary technicians and animal health technologists
• Clinical perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and cardiopulmonary technologists
• Medical radiation technologists
• Medical sonographers
• Other professions in health diagnosing and treating
• Pharmacists
