The Canadian province of Nova Scotia held a draw in March via the Labour Market Priorities Stream. A total of 329 candidates received invitations and all of them are French speakers.

Requirements

The Labour Market Priorities Stream works in conjunction with the Express Entry stream. The candidates who had picked French as their first language were considered by Nova Scotia for the March 19 draw. Among them, the people who scored 9 or more in all the French skills under the Canadian Language Benchmark or CLB test received Letters of Interest.

It was also mandatory for them to have scored 7 or more in the English language skills Nova Scotia prioritized candidates with a bachelor’s degree or one who had completed an educational program spanning three years or more. In order to be accepted into the pool, candidates needed to have an Express Entry number and satisfy all the eligibility requirements. There was no Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off in this draw.

Securing a provincial nomination

The people who received invitations will now be able to submit their applications for a provincial nomination within the next 60 days of the draw. The CRS score is an essential consideration for candidates because it determines their eligibility to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence. The CRS score dictates the candidate’s rank in the pool on the basis of their work experience, educational qualifications, and language proficiency among other factors.

Getting a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia would give the candidates an upper hand because they would receive an extra 600 points.
