Manitoba Issues PNP Invitations To Eligible Immigration Candidates

Manitoba is beginning the year on a positive note by hosting draws for skilled immigration candidates who will be able to boost the provincial economy during the post-pandemic slump. The latest draw took place on January 28 and issued invitations to 218 candidates.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program or MPNP targeted three particular streams from which international graduates and skilled workers were invited. The Skilled Worker Overseas, the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and the International Graduate Stream were the chosen streams.

13 of the 218 Letters of Advice to Apply or LAAs were given to candidates with Express Entry profiles. The Manitoba PNP plans to reject any of the selected candidates who will not be able to produce a job seeker validation code, an Express Entry ID or proof of work experience in any of the in-demand professions.

Details of the draw

The required Expression of Interest or EOI scores varied across different streams. The people belonging to Skilled Workers in Manitoba required a minimum score of 518 and they managed to secure 178 LAAs.

Candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas stream received 17 LAAs and their score requirement was 681. Lastly, the International Education Stream candidates got 23 LAAs and they did not have to meet any minimum EOI score requirement.

Manitoba uses the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and the Skilled Workers Overseas Category to nominate skilled candidates who will be able to meet the labor market requirements of the province. On the other hand, international students who completed their graduation in Manitoba can opt for the International Education Stream if they possess the necessary skills.

The Manitoba PNP only chose candidates engaged in a regulated profession.
