BC PNP Pool

British Columbia has released the latest breakdown of its Skills Immigration registration pool. As of October 6, 2026, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) pool holds 7,695 registered candidates. Each is waiting for an invitation to apply. The numbers offer a rare, clear look at how competitive the province has become.

The largest published groups sit in the middle. A total of 1,444 candidates score between 90 and 99 points. Another 1,426 score between 100 and 109. Together they account for 2,870 candidates, or about 37 per cent of the pool. The remaining 3,768 candidates fall in other ranges, including scores below 90 and between 110 and 119.

A Strong Top Tier

At the upper end, 1,057 candidates have 120 points or more. That is nearly 14 per cent of the pool. Nine candidates have scores of 150 or above. These candidates hold a strong advantage in general selection. Even so, the province can invite by sector, so a high score is not the only road.

BC PNP October 8 Care Sector Draws

British Columbia issued targeted invitations on October 8, 2026. The results show how selection factors shape cut offs.

How Scores Are Built

BC PNP scoring blends human capital factors and economic factors. Education, work experience and language ability all count. So do details of the job offer, such as wage and location, among other items. Because each factor adds points, small gains can matter. A higher language band, a better paid offer or a job outside the busiest regions can each shift a total.

What the Draws Tell Us

Cut offs vary widely. Health care invitations went out at a minimum of 76. Childcare required 99. Veterinary care sat at 86 with very few invitations. The pattern suggests that British Columbia is filling sector needs, not just ranking the entire pool by raw score. Candidates in priority care occupations may see lower thresholds than those in general draws. Remember that minimum scores are results, not rules. They describe a single draw. The next draw may set a different line.

Why It Matters for Candidates

The published pool helps candidates judge their position. A score in the 90s places you in a crowded group. A score above 120 puts you in a much smaller one. But category fit can change the picture. A candidate in a targeted sector may be invited before a higher scoring candidate outside it.

Most Skills Immigration pathways generally require a job offer from a B.C. employer. That makes employer readiness a practical issue. Employers should be prepared to complete their sections quickly once a candidate is invited.

Planning Around Competition

With thousands of candidates in the mid range, many share the same score. In a crowded group, small differences can matter. Candidates should never treat a single point as trivial. They should keep registrations active, watch draw announcements and respond fast to any invitation. Missing a deadline after invitation can end an otherwise strong case.

A Message for Employers

Employers in care, health and other priority sectors have a clear signal. British Columbia wants workers in these fields. Employers who prepare job offers and required forms early help their candidates respond quickly. Businesses that understand the BC PNP process can retain talent and fill gaps faster. British Columbia’s coast, mountains and thriving cities keep attracting skilled newcomers. Strong demand reflects strong prospects.

What Comes Next

Expect more targeted draws in the coming weeks. Watch the official British Columbia immigration pages for each result. Candidates should also review whether Express Entry is an option alongside their provincial registration. Keep your registration active and your contact details current so no invitation is missed.
