Ontario Organizes First PNP Draw via International Student Stream

International students in Canada look forward to working in the country after completing their degrees so they can become permanent residents in the long run.

Recently, the Canadian province of Ontario changed its immigration intake system to become fairer and more accessible. Subsequently, Ontario organized its first Provincial Nominee Program draw via the International Student stream on May 18.

Details of the draw

A total of 138 international students received invitations in this draw. The selected candidates will now have the chance to submit an application for a provincial nomination to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

They might fulfill the eligibility requirements of the Ontario International Student Stream, which is a part of the Employer Job Offer category. International students with eligible job offers from Ontario-based employers are eligible for this program.

The candidates who received invitations had to have a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 77. They already had existing job offers in the province. For this draw, Ontario focused on inviting candidates who had submitted their profiles under the new Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

Candidates who have completed an educational degree from a Canadian Designated Learning Institution and are sure about immigrating to Ontario have a higher chance of getting an invitation.

If you are interested in this Provincial Nominee Program, you should make an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the OINP. You can submit an application even if you are not physically present in Canada. All registered candidates are assigned a score by the province based on their educational and job qualifications and their connections to Ontario.
