Express Entry draw invites for Canadian permanent residence

By embracing globalization, Canada has earned a reputation as a great place for immigrants to start their life. It has led more immigrants to turn to Canada and with that, the Express Entry (EE) program has become a popular choice of the potential immigrants who want to get a shot at Canadian permanent residence. The new Express Entry draw which was held on October 2, extended invitations to 3,900 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence. For this draw the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score considered was 464 and above to be selected in this round. The CRS score refers to the Comprehensive Ranking System, which awards a score to the eligible candidates based on their eligibility for Canadian citizenship.

This draw saw an increase of 300 Invitation to Apply (ITAs) over the previous draw on September 18. The last time Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3,900 Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence was on January 23, 2019.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) used a tie-break in the October 2 draw. This means all the candidates who had a CRS score of 464 or above and had submitted their profile in the Express Entry pool before September 20, 2019, at 15:05:04 UTC received an ITA. With this draw, the number of ITAs issued this year reaches to 67,300.
To be selected to receive an ITA, the candidates are ranked in the pool according to their CRS score, which is based on factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors. However, a job is not required to enter or be selected from the Express Entry Pool. The highest-ranked candidates in the EE pool are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence during regular draws.
